Customer story · Roche
From “I think” to the data.
When a team asked for more desks or more rooms on the Sant Cugat campus, Roche had no data to know whether they were needed. With Orpheus it saw that, 30% of the time its rooms are in use, there is only one person inside, and that the building runs at 60% occupancy.

¿No tienes razón?
The challenge
Finite space, no data.
For Gemma Sánchez, the biggest challenge was having no data. Space is finite and you have to decide well what it’s used for. When a team said it didn’t fit on its floor or needed more workstations, was it right? There was no data to check.
Meeting rooms were the same. With more than 100 of them, if someone said there weren’t enough, were more really needed? And if so, what size? Without data, they were somewhat lost.
How we work together
Close and flexible.
Gemma Sánchez often brings changes, ideas or a challenge without yet knowing how to present it. The Orpheus team works to understand what Roche needs and to help express it in the best possible way.
What changed
What measuring revealed.
- 01
Collaborative rooms, solo work
30% of the time the rooms are in use, there is only one person inside. Perhaps what’s needed isn’t more rooms but more focus booths, and better use of the space.
- 02
The building’s real capacity
The building runs at 60% occupancy. When leadership asks, Roche knows how much room it has to grow.
- 03
Hard data for leadership
The conversation is no longer “I think”, “I believe” or “we don’t fit here”, but “look, here’s the data”. For Roche, it’s the most important strategic step.
There are more and more companies on the market installing sensors, but for me you go beyond “here are some sensors, here’s your dashboard”. All the support you give with reports, with being able to explain how the spaces behave, is what makes the difference for me.
